Chinese envoy says nat'l sentiments key in tackling shrine row
TOKYO, Japan - Chinese Ambassador to Japan Wu Dawei (L) talks with Taku Yamasaki (R), secretary general of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), at LDP headquarters in Tokyo on July 31. The Chinese envoy told Yamasaki that China and Japan must respect each other's national sentiments in dealing with their row over a planned visit by Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi to Yasukuni Shrine, dedicated to the war dead.
