San Francisco Peace Treaty memorial stamp to debut in Sept.

TOKYO, Japan - Photo shows an 80-yen commemorative postage stamp the government will issue on Sept. 7 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Japan's signing of the San Francisco Peace Treaty. The stamp include images of the San Francisco Opera House, where the treaty was signed, and Japanese autumn flowers.

                      Yamaguchi, former film star known as Li Xianglan, dies at 94

                      TOKYO, Japan - File photo taken in March 1954 shows Yoshiko Yamaguchi (R), a China-born Japanese singer and actress who appeared in several films under the name of Li Xianglan, and American sculptor Isamu Noguchi, who was Yamaguchi's husband at the time, upon their arrival at Tokyo's Haneda airport. Yamaguchi, who later became a House of Councillors member, died of heart failure on Sept. 7, 2014, aged 94, her office said Sept. 14.
