Fire breaks out in lot next to textbook society building

TOKYO, Japan - Police investigate the area around the building housing the Japanese Society for Textbook Reform, authors of a controversial history textbook that has been accused by Asian neighbors of glossing over Japan's wartime atrocities, in Tokyo's Bunkyo Ward on Aug. 8. A fire triggered by an incendiary device broke out during the night of Aug. 7 in a parking lot adjacent to the building.
