LDP panel issues warning against Tanaka over campaign speech

TOKYO, Japan - Members of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party's (LDP) ethics panel hold a meeting at the LDP's headquarters in Tokyo on Aug. 8 to discuss what action to take against Foreign Minister Makiko Tanaka for her election campaign speech. The panel issued a warning against Tanaka for remarking in the speech that she did not know the identity of the candidate on whose behalf she was making a pitch in Maebashi on July 28.
