Koizumi hopes to meet with Kim to mend ties

TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi tells reporters at his official residence Aug. 15 that he hopes to meet with South Korean President Kim Dae Jung to discuss ways to improve bilateral relations, which have become strained due to Koizumi's controversial visit to Yasukuni Shrine earlier this week.
