Koizumi visits Marco Polo Bridge outside Beijing

BEIJING, China - Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi (2nd from R, foreground) visits the Marco Polo Bridge outside Beijing on Oct. 8, the site of the 1937 clash that triggered an eight-year war between Japan and China. Koizumi arrived in Beijing earlier in the day for a one-day trip to mend soured relations between the two countries.
