Pakistan decides not to ask Japan for debt cancellation

TOKYO, Japan - Japanese Foreign Minister Makiko Tanaka (L) holds talks with Pakistani Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz (R), a special envoy of President Pervez Musharraf, at her ministry in Tokyo on Nov. 1. Aziz said Pakistan has reversed its earlier decision to ask Japan for debt cancellation and will instead seek better conditions and extended repayment periods on its outstanding foreign debt.
