Lawmaker Sakai admits staff got money from firm in fraud case
SAGA, Japan - Takanori Sakai, a former Finance Ministry bureaucrat and current House of Representatives member, holds a news conference in Saga, southwestern Japan, on Nov. 20. Sakai admitted that money was transferred to one of his former secretaries from an Osaka investment company accused of defrauding customers through financial schemes, a reversal of his previous statement in which he said he was unaware of funds transfer.
