Okazaki turns the tables with surprise win

NAGANO, Japan - Tomomi Okazaki tastes her gold medal after winning the women's 500-meter race at the two-day national sprint championships at the M-Wave indoor oval in Nagano on Dec. 27. Okazaki, who looked on the verge of missing a place in Salt Lake City after being kept off the podium the previous day, turned the tables with a surprise victory over runner-up Osuga by just 0.01.
