Oita Pref. may host int'l soccer games after World Cup

OITA, Japan - Oita Gov. Morihiko Hiramatsu, seen in this photo holding an official match ball for 2002 World Cup soccer finals, said in a recent interview with Kyodo News that the prefecture is planning to host international soccer games after the World Cup among five countries -- Japan, North Korea, South Korea, China and Russia. According to Hiramatsu, the idea was the brainchild of Chung Mong Joon, president of the (South) Korea Football Association.
