Ogata asks Koizumi to help Afghan refugees, telecom network
TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi (L) shake hands with Sadako Ogata, his special envoy on Afghan affairs, at his official residence in Tokyo on Jan. 23. Ogata, who co-chaired an international donors conference on reconstruction of Afghanistan in Tokyo earlier this week, asked for Japan to help Afghan refugees and provide aid in areas such as telecommunications.
