Opposition submits no-confidence motion against Takebe
TOKYO, Japan - Representatives of opposition parties (L side) submit a no-confidence motion to the House of Representatives on Feb. 4 against farm minister Tsutomu Takebe over his handling of the outbreak of mad cow disease in Japan. They presented the motion to Fukumaru Tani (R), secretary general of the lower house. The Democratic Party of Japan, the Liberal Party, the Japanese Communist Party and the Social Democratic Party agreed on the motion.
