Ishii says deal close, but report suggests tough going

LOS ANGELES, United States - Japanese southpaw Kazuhisa Ishii tells reporters after arriving Feb. 5 in Los Angeles that an agreement on a contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers will be settled in a few days. But a Los Angeles Times report said the same day the two parties were still miles apart.
