Memorial service for conductor Asahina held in Osaka
OSAKA, Japan - The Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra performs at a memorial service for Takashi Asahina, who was the world's oldest active conductor and a founder of the orchestra, at a concert hall in Osaka's Kita Ward on Feb. 7. Asahina served as musical director and executive conductor of the orchestra until he died at 93 on Dec. 30 last year.
