Ex-Congolese envoy says Suzuki offered help in residence row
TOKYO, Japan - Benoit Urbain Mbuyi-Mukishi, former Congolese charge d'affaires in Japan, responds to questions from reporters at a meeting of opposition lawmakers in Tokyo on March 1. Mbuyi-Mukishi said he was asked by Muneo Suzuki, a senior legislator of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, to cooperate with an organization connected with Suzuki's privately hired Congolese secretary in return for Suzuki's help in a dispute over the embassy residence.
