Japan, U.S. to mull ways of reviving tourism

WASHINGTON, United States - Jiro Hanyu (L), Japanese vice land, infrastructure and transport minister for international affairs, and Linda Conlin, U.S. assistant secretary of commerce for trade development, give a joint news conference in Washington on March 5. Japan and the United States agreed to create a public-private consultation body to tackle reviving Japanese tourism in the U.S., which has plunged in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
