Scandal-hit Japan group sought huge loan from Philippine bank
MAKATI CITY, Philippines - Genta Ogami, 39, founder and honorary chairman of the Tokyo-based G.O. Group which is suspected of defrauding member investors, sought 400 million yen (about $3.1 million) in loans from Unitrust Development Bank (shown in file photo) in Makati City in Metro Manila shortly after the group acquired the bank in 2001, a former senior bank official said March 7.
