Philippines offers help in probing scandal-hit Japan group

MANILA, Philippines - Rafael Buenaventura, governor of the Central Bank of the Philippines, speaks in an interview with Kyodo News in Manila on March 8. He said the Philippines is willing to cooperate with Japanese authorities in investigating the acquisition of a small Philippine thrift bank by the head of a Japanese group of companies suspected of defrauding investors.
