Coast guard shows off boat part damaged in Dec. gunbattle
TOKYO - The Japan Coast Guard showed off at its Tokyo headquarters on May 7 part of a patrol vessel damaged in a gunbattle with a suspected North Korean spy ship in December 2001. Shown to the media is the outer pilothouse wall of the Amami, which the unidentified ship hit with about 130 rounds before it sank in the East China Sea on Dec. 22.
