Russians from disputed isles arrive in Japan
NEMURO, Japan - A group of residents from Russian-held islands off Hokkkaido that are claimed by Japan arrive at Nemuro, eastern Hokkaido, on May 15 for a visa-free visit. This year is the 11th year of bilateral exchanges in which Japan and Russia agreed in 1992 to allow reciprocal visits to and from the disputed islands without the need for visas.
