Unofficial World Cup beer 'World Burp' coming to Tokyo

SAPPORO, Japan - Phred Kaufman, a beer importer based in Sapporo, northern Japan, holds up a bottle of ''World Burp Beer'' (L) and a can of ''World Burp happoshu,'' a low-malt, beer-like beverage. The two types of alcoholic beverages, which are currently on sale in some shops in Sapporo, will hit store shelves in Tokyo, Shizuoka and Nagoya in June. Kaufman registered the name ''2002 World Burp Beer'' as a trademark in March 1999.
