IIJ, PoweredCom confirm business integration talks

TOKYO, Japan - Koichi Suzuki (L), president of Internet access provider Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ), and Takeshi Taneichi, president of PoweredCom Inc., a data-communications firm owned by Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO) and nine other utilities, give a joint news conference in Tokyo on July 18. The two firms released a statement saying, ''It is true that we are studying ways to unite our management, including possible business integration.''
