Panel to recommend clearer food-labeling
TOKYO, Japan - Members of a government advisory council in their meeting in Tokyo on July 30 consider recommending the government to oblige food producers and packers to unify the terms they employ for use-by dates for their products. At present, food producers and packers are allowed to use a range of expressions, such as a ''use-by date'' and ''quality preservation period.''
