Hosoda appointed as minister for Okinawa issues
TOKYO, Japan - Hiroyuki Hosoda, newly appointed minister for science and technology, the development of Okinawa, and the settlement of issues concerning disputed isles off Hokkaido, enters the prime minister's office in Tokyo on Sept. 30. Hosoda, 58, replaces Koji Omi, 69, who held the post since the inauguration in April last year of the first cabinet of Koizumi.
