Radcliffe wins women's race
CHICAGO, United States - Britain's Paula Radcliffe, running in her second marathon, smiles after winning the women's race of Chicago marathon on Oct. 13. She clocked 2:17:18, lopping nearly 90 seconds off the existing world record for women. Catherine Ndereba of Kenya, who set the previous world mark of 2:18:47 in Chicago in 2001, was second in 2:19:26 while Japan's Yoko Shibui was a distant third in 2:21:22.
