Soga's alma mater issues diploma

MANO, Japan - Sado High School in Niigata Prefecture issued a diploma Oct. 16 for Hitomi Soga, 43, one of the five Japanese abducted to North Korea who returned to Japan on Oct. 15 for a visit. Soga was kidnapped at the age of 19 in 1978, while taking part-time courses at the school. She is expected to accept the certificate on Oct. 17 when she visits her hometown of Mano.
