Ex-Hachiyo chairman arrested in investment scam

TOKYO, Japan - Osamu Tadokoro, former honorary chairman of health food firm Zenkoku Hachiyo Butsuryu (Hachiyo), is taken to the Metropolitan Police Department in a police car on Nov. 27 after being arrested on suspicion of defrauding investors out of some 70 million yen by promising them returns within a certain period.

Police surveillance cameras in operation in Tokyo's Kabukicho

TOKYO, Japan - A surveillance camera set up by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) in Tokyo's Kabukicho entertainment district surveys a street of Japan's largest adult entertainment area. The MPD put 50 surveillance cameras into operation Feb. 27 in the district as part of its crime-fighting efforts there.
