Nissan to test-drive fuel-cell vehicle on public roads
TOKYO, Japan - Nissan Motor Co. said Dec. 10 it has gained government approval to test-drive its fuel-cell powered sports-utility vehicle, X-Trail FCV (in photo), on public roads in order to start leasing fuel-cell vehicles in 2003. Nissan will be the third Japanese automaker to launch a fuel-cell vehicle, after Toyota Motor Corp. and Honda Motor Co. launched such cars Dec. 2.
