Windmill for power plant in Tokyo Bay completed

TOKYO, Japan - Workers attach 26-meter long blades to a 70-meter tall windmill on reclaimed land in Tokyo Bay on Jan. 17 to complete the construction of the Denmark-made windmill. The windmill is part of a wind power plant jointly constructed on the Tokyo waterfront by the Tokyo metropolitan government and private companies as part of measures against global warming.

          TOKYO, Japan - Construction of a new Yokohama waterfront icon -- a huge windmill that provides multicolor illumination at night -- was completed on March 26. The windmill, which is 118 meters high with blades extending 80 meters long, has a capacity to produce 3 million kilowatts of electricity a year. At night, the windmill is illuminated in green, yellow, red and green, the color changing every 30 minutes depending on the direction of the wind.
