Court dismisses damages claim over highway collapse in quake

Court orders McDonald's to pay overtime to manager

Court rejects 1st suit against automakers over exhaust

TOKYO, Japan - Two plaintiffs hold banners reading ''We won the suit'' after the Tokyo District Court ordered the central government, the Tokyo metropolitan government, and the state-run Metropolitan Expressway Public Corp. to pay the 99 plaintiffs a combined 79.2 million yen in compensation for causing health problems through motor exhaust gas. The court rejected their damages suit lodged against automobile manufacturers, the first in Japan.

JR Tokai ordered to pay 49 mil. yen over teen's death

Residents, gov't strike deal on pollution suit
