Kim apologizes over money sent to N. Korea before 2000 summit
SEOUL, South Korea - President Kim Dae Jung speaks to the nation from his office in Seoul on Feb. 14 and apologized for allowing secret funds to be transferred to North Korea before a June 2000 inter-Korean leaders' summit in Pyongyang. Hyundai Merchant Marine Co. allegedly funneled 223.5 billion won (about $186 million) in secret aid to the North.
