Okinawa village drops lectures by U.S. general after protest

NAHA, Japan - Keishun Koja, chief of Chinen village in Okinawa Prefecture, announces Feb. 26 that the village canceled planned lectures by Lt. Gen. Wallace Gregson, a top-ranked U.S. general on the island, apparently over protests from school teachers and others. Gregson was scheduled to speak at the village's elementary and junior high schools on Feb. 27.
