Tokyo stocks rise on hopes for short war
TOKYO, Japan - Pedestrians pass by the stock price board in Tokyo's Toranomon district on March 20. Stock prices rose for the third straight session as investors snapped up shares on hopes that a U.S.-led war with Iraq will end quickly and decisively. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average climbed 144.01 points to close at 8,195.05, the highest close since March 6.
