HIV victims call for patient rights over SARS
TOKYO, Japan - Jugo Hanai (R), speaks at a news conference in Tokyo on April 9 for victims of a scandal involving HIV-tainted blood products in Japan in the 1980s. Hanai urged the government to protect the rights of patients diagnosed with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). A group of such victims said it is concerned that public fears of SARS will spark discriminations against SARS patients.
