Japan hands over emergency aid to China for SARS
BEIJING, China - The first batch of Japanese emergency aid including medical supplies to China is handed over to the health ministry May 8 to help the country deal with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). The package, including supplies such as masks, protective clothing, and tubes to take blood, is about a 10th of the roughly 205 million yen in emergency aid Japan is to extend to China to combat the disease.
