Rebels accused of burning schools, martial law in Aceh slammed
BANDA ACEH, Indonesia - Pupils at an elementary school look at the ruins of their burnt school building in Banda Aceh, the capital of the restive Indonesian province of Aceh, on May 20. Military and ppolice officers have claimed that almost 200 schools in Aceh were burnt down by the separatist Free Aceh Movement (GAM), which has so far not responded to the allegations.
