Japan could be Security Council permanent member by 2005: UK
LONDON, Britain - British Foreign Office Minister Bill Rammell spoke in an interview with Kyodo News in London June 2. He said Japan could become a permanent member of the U.N. Security Council as early as 2005 under a British plan that would add five non-veto-wielding permanent members to the security council.
