Upper house panel OKs SDF Iraq bill, passage likely soon

TOKYO, Japan - Ruling and opposition members of the House of Councillors' Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee rush to the seat of panel chairman Ryuji Matsumura as the ruling bloc railroad a bill aimed at sending Self-Defesne Forces personel to Iraq to assist in reconstruction work there.
