JT to cut 4,000 jobs, close 1-3rd of factories

TOKYO, Japan - Japan Tobacco Inc. (JT) President Katsuhiko Honda speaks at a news conference in Tokyo on Aug. 6. He bared a medium-term management plan, in which the company will solicit applications for early retirement from about 4,000 employees and close about a third of its tobacco-manufacturing plants.

    Japan Display Inc. (JDI) has finalized a new fundraising framework totaling over 100 billion yen.
