Prosecutors seek 15 yrs in jail for alleged JI chief
JAKARTA, Indonesia - Indonesian prosecutors on Aug. 12 seek 15 years in jail for Muslim cleric Abu Bakar Bashir (file photo), accused of treason for setting up Jemaah Islamiyah (JI), a Southeast Asian terrorist network allegedly associated with al-Qaida. Bashir, 64, has been indicted on four charges of treason, falsification and immigration violations.
