Tokyo stocks rise on U.S. share gains

TOKYO, Japan - A stock price board of a securities firm in Tokyo's Yurakucho district on Aug. 19 shows the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average climbing 185.65 points to end the morning at 10,218.62, topping the 10,200 line on an intraday basis for the first time since July last year. Stocks rose sharply after solid gains in U.S. equities overnight.
