Hitachi develops new biometric identification system
TOKYO, Japan - Hitachi Ltd. said on Sept. 1 it has developed an identification system based on the pattern of veins in fingers (shown in photo) as the race to develop biometric identification systems intensifies among Japanese high-tech companies. Hitachi claims the functionality of the new system is among the highest in the world as it takes only one second to identify an individual and has an error rate of close to zero.
