Teenage phenom Miyazato to make pro debut at Itoen Ladies
TOKYO, Japan - Teenage prodigy Ai Miyazato (in file photo) will make her pro debut at Itoen Ladies tournament in mid-November after the Japanese LPGA officially approved her application to join the tour at an executive meeting in Tokyo on Oct. 14. At 18 years and three months, Miyazato becomes the youngest player ever to join the JLPGA tour, eclipsing the record set by Kazumi Adachi, who turned pro at 18 years, four months and two days in 1984.
