Hiroshima woman listed as world's oldest person at 114
KAGOSHIMA, Japan - The Guinness Book of Records has listed 114-year-old Mitoyo Kawate (file photo) of Hiroshima city as the world's oldest person. Born in Hiroshima Prefecture on May 15, 1889, Kawate became the world's oldest person after Kamato Hongo of Kagoshima died of pneumonia Oct. 31 at the age of 116.
