Koizumi eyes sanctions on N. Korea
TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi ponders before replying to Democratic Party of Japan leader Naoto Kan at a House of Representatives Budget Committee session. Koizumi said he will consider imposing economic sanctions on North Korea if it fails to meet Japan's demands related to its abductions of Japanese nationals and reiterated a plan to dispatch troops to Iraq despite security concerns.
