Japan gives up Mars exploration

TOKYO, Japan - A computer graphics provided by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) gives an image of its Mars probe Nozomi (Hope). JAXA gave up its attempt Dec. 9 after failing to repair the troubled probe by the deadline for its entering orbit around the Red Planet.
