Man throws 1 mil. yen cash from Nagoya tower

NAGOYA, Japan - Photo shows part of U.S. dollar bills which a 26-year-old unemployed man from the city of Gifu, central Japan, threw from the observatory of Nagoya TV Tower on Dec. 23. Police said the man threw at least 1 million yen worth of U.S. dollar bills and old Japanese banknotes ''to pass on may gains from stock investments'' to the public.

      Tokyo man arrested for allegedly selling rare macaws

      NAGOYA, Japan - Photo shows macaws at Higashiyama Zoo in Nagoya after police arrested a 47-year-old self-employed Tokyo man on Jan. 9 for allegedly selling them. The macaws are protected by the Washington Convention on endangered species. The man allegedly sold eight macaws for a total of 300,000 yen.
