Dollar touches new 40-month low in Tokyo
TOKYO, Japan - A price board outside a Tokyo brokerage house shows the U.S. dollar hit a new 40-month low on Jan. 6 before rebounding later in the day. Currency traders said they believe the late rebound versus the yen, which happened without dollar-positive news, was a product of yen-selling, dollar-buying intervention by the Bank of Japan.
