Kawashima to step down as Japan baseball commissioner
TOKYO, Japan - Hiromori Kawashima (L, file photo) will step down as commissioner of Japanese professional baseball when his term finishes in March, baseball sources said Jan. 9. Former Fair Trade Commission chief and lawyer Yasuchika Negoro, 71, (R, file photo) is a leading candidate to succeed the 81-year-old Kawashima.
