Peterhansel triumphs in Dakar Rally

DAKAR, Senegal - French driver Staphane Peterhansel (2nd from R) acknowledges the cheers of fans after winning the Dakar Rally on Jan. 18. Peterhansel became only the second person to win the motorbike and car categories in the desert race. At right is his Mitsubishi teammate, two-time defending champion Hiroshi Masuoka of Japan, who placed second.
